Dr. DJ Lei, born December 1979, Ph.D. and postdoctoral fellow, is a member of CIE, CSSF, CAAI and a senior member of CCF; Vice Director of the Computer Basic Education Committee of the Chongqing Computer Society, a committee member of the Remote Sensing Imaging Special Committee of CSIG, a committee member of the Health Big Data Application Special Committee of the Chongqing Hospital Association, and a council member of the Chongqing Society of Digital Medicine. He is a professor and both master’s and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Computer Fundamentals, School of Computer Science and Technology, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He received his M.Eng. in Computer Application Technology from Wuhan University of Science and Technology in 2006 and his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Technology from Chongqing University in 2012. From 2014 to 2015 he conducted postdoctoral research in high-performance computing at the Simula Research Laboratory, University of Oslo, Norway. He was selected for the Chongqing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program for Returned Scholars in 2018, named a Huawei Cloud Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in 2020, and appointed an expert in project evaluation and consulting by the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle Science and Technology Innovation Alliance in 2022. He has led or joined nearly 10 national, municipal and ministry-level projects in data science and big data, more than 20 industry projects in power, healthcare and public security, served as architecture and algorithm consultant for the big data systems of Chonqing Huidu Technology and Chongqing Shangong Technology since 2016, and served on the technical committee of the Engineering Research Center of Intelligent Applications of Children’s Medical Big Data (CQUPT-affiliated) at Chongqing Children’s Hospital since 2019. He has published over 30 papers in domestic and international journals and conferences, and serves as a reviewer for leading journals including TPAMI, TIP, TOC, TGRS and ESWA. He has filed 20 national invention patents (8 granted, 2 commercialized). His students have won more than 50 awards in big-data intelligence competitions. His current vertical research focuses on big data and machine learning; his engineering practice covers big data platform planning and construction, performance tuning of big data components, big data algorithm design and implementation, big data project architecture design, and NLP engineering applications.
